5 reasons why you should install Simplicity App today (and tell your neighbors about it)

You may have already heard that your city has officially joined Simplicity, a new communication platform for your community. Or maybe it’s still considering joining. Regardless, the reason for Simplicity is simple: it’s the first platform built from scratch specifically for your city and public agencies to communicate with you directly.

Many of us are on social media platforms, but these alone are not enough for Public Agencies to efficiently notify residents about important community news, updates, upcoming local events, power outages, trash pickups, street cleanings, and more. That’s why an additional way has been introduced for you to stay up-to-date on all of these.

Here are 5 reasons why you should install the application today, and invite your family and neighbors to do the same:

  1. Your community will have access to essential information in one place.
From now on, Simplicity will be your source for information about things that affect your community. You won’t have to scroll through dozens of cat and baby photos to find a message about a roadblock on your usual way to work or a tax deadline that’s coming up.
  2. You can customize your feed and notifications.
You will not be notified about everything that is going on around you (unless you want to be, of course). The app offers a wide range of topics that you can subscribe to: City, Economic and Health Departments, Library, Parks and Recreation, Public Safety, Schools, Sports Teams, Transportation, and others. You don’t have kids or are not into public events? Keep these sections off for notifications to not get spammed on what doesn’t interest you.
  3. You can help to take care of your city.
Click on the main menu in the upper right corner to find an option to “submit idea or report”. You can send a message, attach a photo of something you believe should be fixed (a broken bench or pothole, for example) and even mark the location for superior reporting.
  4. You don’t need to create an account or give personal data.
The application is free. After installing it on your smartphone or tablet, all you need to do is to choose your city and then select the topics that interest you, in order to get a personalized experience. No account and personal information are required.
  5. Finally, the application is easy to use.
Simplicity App has a simple design that makes it easy to navigate and interact with, no matter how fluently you speak the language of technology.

Residents of the following cities in the states of Illinois and California already have access to the Simplicity app which can be downloaded here:
